About

It was the year 2000, and the world was coming to terms with the fact that it was an actual year, and not a joke by Conan O'Brien anymore. Y2K was a thing of the past, far too many people were singing along to Spice Girl songs, and the Lakers were on their way to a string of NBA championships.

Meanwhile, in a far less exciting Canadian suburb, Aaron Simmer and Jeff Nash were discussing making some sort of video game radio show. That lasted for about a week until they found out how much it costs to do something like that. So, they made a gaming fan site instead. It was meant to be "all things gaming". The site would cover consoles, PC, even action figures and the occasional anime and with that The Armchair Empire was born. That continued for the next 15 years.

In 2015, the decision was made to shutdown the original url at armchairempire.com, and Aaron felt it was time to move on to other things. With that, AE Infinite continues on as a legacy of the empire with Jeff at the helm. There will still be the gaming discussion, now with Jeff pretty much talking about whatever games he wants both new and old. It'll be a very self-indulgent look at the medium on his part.
