Review: DMC - Devil May Cry: Virgil's Downfall (360 DLC)


Virgil's Downfall puts you in the driver's seat for Virgil's descent into madness. His defeat by his brother has not left him in the greatest of moods, and you can see the progression of how his mind slowly becomes unhinged as revenge starts to overwhelm his mind.

Review: DMC - Devil May Cry (360)


Re-launching an established franchise is a very difficult path to go. You need to simultaneously draw in new fans and not alienate your fan-base. Too much pandering to the old franchise and newbies won't have a clue as to what's going on. Too many new elements and the returning fans will be angry that the original attraction is gone.

Developer Ninja Theory has done an impressive job of re-imagining the franchise. They took the basic combat system as their new core and then went to town on everything else. With this change, DMC is just as controller-throwing frustrating as its predecessors without being bogged down by the previous history.

Feature: Sony Holiday 2012 Preview Event

 

When I arrived at Sony's annual holiday preview event in Toronto I immediately felt a sense of comfort. This sensation was far different from the very first time I arrived at such an event. As the years have passed I have made connections with my fellow journalists and these events are not only a time to play the latest games but also a time to get together face to face with those that share similar passions. It has not only become comfortable, but also enjoyable.
