Review: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PC)

Everything you've read or heard about The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is true.

Those weird bugs, game-crashing or otherwise, you heard about from your second cousin; the glowing reviews by the vast majority of players and the enthusiast press (groups often on opposing fronts); the nudity from that weird guys you shared a bus ride with through a questionable part of town; the gritty violence of careful rolling and parrying; storytelling that actually weaves the world and it's inhabitants into an interesting whole; alchemy and magic; and the sweeping vistas of a game that packs a "Wow!" Factor of at least 70 when it comes to detail and texture.

Preview: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I want to know precisely what sort of raw meat the developers at CD Projekt RED are being fed on a daily basis, because whatever it is, it's giving them some absolutely fantastic powers which are being used to create what looks to be the must-have action RPG for next year.  I didn't think it was possible, but this thing looks better now that it did a year ago on what was disclaimed as an alpha stage project.  For the press demo at E3 2014, CD Projekt RED took us through a new adventure, likely part of the main quest line.

E3 After-Action Report

It's been busy down here at E3. I've been running myself ragged, whipping from one side of the L.A. Convention Center to the other and back trying get the latest on what publishers and developers are going to release in the next year. While I couldn't hit everything, I got quite a bit, as well as talking shop with other industry professionals. Here's a taste of what I found this year, much of which I'll go into further detail in upcoming previews.

Review: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition (360)

Getting weak in the knees thinking about a video game character is 100% ridiculous and a sure sign that the person experiencing such feelings is an emotionally unstable weirdo, who you'd more likely see lining up at City Hall for a marriage license to wed their body pillow than reaching for a bar of soap and having a damn shower

Well, that's what I used to believe.
