Oh look, it's a video game blog. In an age rife with YouTube gamers something like this is almost quaint...

Impressions: Alien: Isolation (PC)
After a little time with Alien: Isolation, it's almost impossible to believe the game comes from Creative Assembly, better known for the Total War strategy series, but it does. The kind of attention to detail they poured into those game is the same kind of love they poured into Alien: Isolation. The difference is that a strategy game never got me so wound up that I had to walk away to let my heart rate return to normal. A full review of Alien: Isolation is coming but here are some quick impressions and observations from the first 60 - 90 minutes.

Review: Dead Space 3 (PS3)
In his third foray against the Necromorphs created by the grotesquely human mutating and corpse reanimating Markers, engineer Isaac Clark is given a lot.
A lot of ammunition, a lot of health regenerators, a lot of parts to take advantage of the new weapons building technology, a lot of save points to save his progress throughout Dead Space 3. But for a world where ammo, weapons and health are plentiful, there is sure a lack of damn light. All this futuristic technology, why can't a guy get a high-powered flashlight around here?

News: Chris Roberts Returns, Promises New Space Sim
A few years ago, there was an editorial focusing on Chris Roberts, formerly of Origin and Digital Anvil, and his connection to bad movie adaptations of video games (You can read it here). It seems that Mr. Roberts has decided to return to the game space with a new company and what is suspected to be a new space sim in the vein of Wing Commander or Privateer. Details are understandably scarce at this particular moment but even the teaser images suggest something striking. More information can be found on the Roberts Space Industries website.

Preview: Dead Space 3 (360, PS3)
Dead Space 2 made good strides to improve the series initial offering, which introduced the gaming world to Engineer turned Nightmare Killer, Isaac Clarke. Ratcheting the tension and expanding the universe at the same time. More importantly, Isaac Clarke was given some actual character in the sequel.
