As with every major Disney movie that comes out, it's only natural that we have a video game tie in. In a few weeks Pixar's new movie titled Brave will be released in theatres and to accompany the release will be a video game tie in. The video game loosely follows the story of the movie. Like Epic Mickey 2, Brave can be played with cooperatively with another player. The main character of the film is the Princess Merida of Scotland who is a badass archer. When playing cooperatively, player 2 will control Will O' the Wisp who looks like a dark blue cloud.
The game features a lot of platforming elements such as jumping, attacking enemies and solving puzzles. The action is entertaining enough to keep your attention, but from my time spent with the game there was never anything that seemed different from a lot of other platformers out there. Visually, I was a little disappointed with Brave. I could have mistaken the game for a Playstation 2 title as the environments seemed to lack detail.
Brave is going to appeal most to a younger audience, just like the movie. Brave ships for the PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii/DS and DS on June 19th, 2012
